Some conversations are uncomfortable because they confront the very things our culture tries to avoid. In this powerful new sermon series, Uncomfortable Conversations, we will open God’s Word and address biblical truths that challenge modern thinking, cultural pressure, and spiritual compromise. These messages are not designed to create division, but to call believers back to truth, holiness, courage, and unity through Jesus Christ.

These sermons will encourage Christians to stand firm in truth, live differently in a dark world, speak boldly with grace, and remember that we are united through Christ above every earthly division. These may be uncomfortable conversations—but they are necessary ones.

When Gossip Enters, Unity Leaves
One of the greatest threats to a church is not persecution from the outside—it is division from within.

Rumors, criticism, and gossip have the power to damage relationships, weaken ministries, discourage believers, and hinder the work of God. What begins as a whispered conversation can quickly become a wildfire that spreads throughout an entire congregation.
Before repeating a story, ask:
• Is it true?
• Is it necessary?
• Is it honoring to Christ?
• Have I spoken directly to the person involved?
God calls His people to be builders, not destroyers. The church should be a place where grace is extended, truth is spoken in love, and unity is protected. When believers choose prayer over gossip and encouragement over criticism, the body of Christ becomes stronger.
"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." — Ephesians 4:29
Instead of spreading rumors, spread hope.
Instead of criticism, offer encouragement.
Instead of division, pursue peace.
The enemy loves to divide, but Christ calls His church to unity.
Remember, if someone is gossiping to you, what makes you think they are not gossiping about you behind your back?

Pastor Shane's New Books Coming Soon...
Staring in the Face of Compromise: Holding to Truth in an Age of Confusion** is a compelling call for Christians to remain steadfast in their faith when the pressures of culture, comfort, and acceptance threaten to weaken biblical conviction. Drawing from Scripture, personal ministry experiences, and the challenges facing the modern church, Pastor Shane Lawson exposes the subtle ways compromise can infiltrate the believer's life, church leadership, and congregations. This book encourages readers to discern truth from error, stand courageously for God's Word, and remain faithful to Christ even when faithfulness comes at a personal cost. In an age where moral clarity is often exchanged for cultural approval, *Staring in the Face of Compromise* serves as both a warning and a source of encouragement for those determined to walk the narrow path of truth.

Ichabod: A Pastor's Nightmare is a gripping and deeply personal account of one pastor's journey through the heartbreak, confusion, and spiritual warfare of serving a church where control, manipulation, and fear gradually overshadowed the lordship of Christ. Through firsthand experiences, Pastor Shane Lawson recounts the challenges of leading a congregation influenced by unhealthy power structures that had already driven away previous pastors and members. This book is more than a story of pain and loss—it is a testimony of faith, perseverance, and God's sustaining grace in the midst of adversity. With biblical insight and hard-earned wisdom, Ichabod serves as both a warning to churches drifting from Christ-centered leadership and an encouragement to pastors, leaders, and believers who have experienced church hurt, spiritual abuse, or the crushing weight of ministry conflict. Ultimately, it is a story of surviving the nightmare, remaining faithful to God's call, and finding hope beyond the darkness.
