Scripture:  Hebrews 12:3–4, "For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin."

Devotion: In Hebrews 12:3-4, we are encouraged to examine the life and perseverance of Jesus, especially during times of opposition and hardship. The author reminds us to "consider him," urging us to reflect on the profound suffering Christ endured for our sake. His example strengthens us as we face our own trials and challenges.

Jesus faced immense struggle, betrayal, and hostility from those He came to save. Despite these challenges, He remained steadfast and focused on the joy set before Him—reconciliation between God and humanity. This perspective becomes our inspiration and motivation when we, too, feel weary or discouraged in our faith journey.

The call to not "grow weary and lose heart" resonates deeply in our contemporary lives. We often encounter various forms of hardship, whether personal struggles, spiritual battles, or the pressures of the world around us. Yet, the author emphasizes a vital truth: our struggles, while significant, should be viewed in light of Christ's ultimate sacrifice. He faced opposition far beyond what we may endure, yet He continued to move forward with unwavering purpose.

Additionally, the reminder that "you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood" challenges us to assess our perseverance in the face of sin and temptation. It encourages a spirit of resilience, urging us to grow stronger through our struggles rather than retreating into complacency or despair.

Prayer:  Lord, thank You for the incredible example of perseverance shown through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Help me consider His suffering and remain steadfast in my struggles. When I feel weary or discouraged, remind me of the joy ahead and the strength I can find in You. May I resist temptation with vigor and courage, knowing I am not alone in this journey. Amen.

Reflection: Take a few moments to reflect on your struggles and hardships. Are there specific areas where you feel tempted to grow weary? Invite God into those situations, asking for His strength and perspective. Consider how you can draw inspiration from Jesus' endurance and apply that wisdom to your challenges. How can you support others who may also be struggling? How can you share Christ's message of hope and perseverance with those around you?
