Acts 4:36–37 says, “And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, 37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.”
In Acts 4:36-37, we read about Barnabas, whose name means "son of encouragement." He sold a field he owned and brought the money to the apostles to be used for those in need. Barnabas showed us the importance of generosity and selflessness. His actions remind us to look beyond ourselves and help others practically. Let Barnabas inspire us to be generous, kind, and encouraging to those around us, following his example of giving without expecting anything in return.
