Matthew 6:33 reads, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

In the hustle and bustle of life, with its myriad of concerns and challenges, it's easy to get caught up in the pursuit of our desires and worries. However, in Matthew 6:33, Jesus provides a timeless principle that stands as a guiding light for our lives. He encourages us to prioritize seeking God's kingdom and righteousness.

The call to "seek first" is an invitation to make God the primary focus of our hearts and minds. It's an acknowledgment that everything else falls into place when we prioritize God's kingdom, aligning our lives with His purposes and principles. It's not a denial of our responsibilities or desires but a reordering of priorities.

When we seek God's kingdom, we participate in the eternal work He is doing in the world. We become instruments of His grace, love, and justice. Our lives take on a greater purpose, transcending the temporal concerns that often consume us.

Additionally, seeking God's righteousness involves aligning our character and actions with His perfect standards. It's a continual journey of transformation, where we surrender our will to His and allow His Spirit to mold us into people who reflect His glory.

The promise accompanying this directive is profound: "and all these things will be given to you as well." God, in His faithfulness, assures us that as we seek Him first, He will provide for our needs. Our Heavenly Father knows what we require, and as we entrust ourselves to Him, He graciously takes care of every aspect of our lives.

Today, let's pause and reflect on our priorities. Are we diligently seeking God's kingdom and righteousness, or are we distracted by the cares of this world? May we intentionally make God the center of our lives, trusting that as we seek Him first, He will graciously care for all our needs.
