Romans 13:7, "Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour."

Veterans Day is a special occasion when we unite to honor and express our deep gratitude for the men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. Romans 13:7 reminds us of the importance of honoring and respecting those who have defended our nation and protected our freedoms.

In this verse, the Apostle Paul instructs us to give respect and honor where they are due. Veterans, through their service and sacrifice, have earned our utmost respect and honor. They have often faced adversity and danger, leaving behind the comforts of home to protect our way of life. They have put the welfare of our nation above their own, embodying selflessness and courage.

As we reflect on Veterans Day, it is an opportunity to not only express our gratitude but also to show our respect and honor to those who have served in the military. We can do this through simple acts of kindness, words of appreciation, and by participating in community events and ceremonies dedicated to veterans.

Moreover, we should remember that our obligation to honor and respect extends beyond this day. Veterans Day reminds us that we should consistently value and support our veterans. This includes advocating for the care and well-being of veterans in areas such as healthcare, employment, and mental health.

As Christians, we can express our faith through our actions. Demonstrating gratitude and respect for our veterans is a tangible way of living out the principles of love, gratitude, and service that Christ taught us. It's a way of showing appreciation for those who have protected the freedoms we enjoy and the values we hold dear.

So, on this Veterans Day and every day, let us heed the words of Romans 13:7. Give respect and honor to our veterans, recognizing their sacrifices and service to our nation. May we express our deep gratitude for their commitment to preserving the liberties we cherish, and may we strive to support and uplift them as they transition into civilian life. In doing so, we not only fulfill our civic duty but also live out the love and compassion that Christ calls us to demonstrate to all.
