Spiritual Warfare!

Did you know as a Christian that we are prey and Satan knows the best bait to trap every Christian? I recently taught on this topic of Spiritual warfare, only to find that in less than 24 hours, Satan and his adversaries began to attack me with schemes.

The Bible warns us and describes Satan as "an enemy that prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8). We are warned in the same passage to be self-controlled and alert. As Christians, we must guard our thoughts and realize that every time we sin, we open up an opportunity for Satan to gain a hold of our lives. Ephesians 4:27 says: "Do not give the devil a foothold."

We can resist the devil's attacks by using the Word of God as a sword (Ephesians 6:17). God's Word is His Sword, and it shines God's light on Satan's lies. Anytime you are engaged in Spiritual warfare, follow these steps: Stop and Pray; Declare God's Word as a Sword, and affirm your citizenship in heaven. We serve an omnipotent God, and our enemies are helpless before Him, Friend; Spiritual Warfare is real, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Amen!
