Nothing But The Blood!

One of my favorite old hymns is “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.” Many reject the idea of Christ’s blood paying for our sins. As long as I am preaching, I will not remain silent from preaching on the blood of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:18-19 says: “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”

Prayers, good works, deeds, sacraments, tears, will not save you, but the blood of Jesus will. It is the blood of Jesus that keeps! We must realize that there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood. As Christians, we are in a blood covenant relationship with God, which means that we are no longer our own and cannot do whatever we choose. Our lives must be lived as sanctified.

 My dear friends, everyone must decide what they will do with the precious blood of Christ. The blood of Jesus is either in your heart and on your life or your hands and under your feet. Do you get the picture today? Can you see Christ’s blood? More importantly, can God see it? If not, all He sees is your sin. Make sure you’re covered…one application is all that it takes. Amen!
