Will Rodgers said: "We spend money we don't have to buy things we don't need to impress people we don't even like." The Bible reads in Exodus 20:17: "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."
There are no material possessions in life that are going to bring contentment. To have joy in Christ requires four decisions about the events and controls of our life:
1). We must focus on what God has already allowed us to have.
2). We must disregard what we do not have.
3). We must refuse to covet what others may have.
4). We must give thanks to God for each all of his gifts
Amen!
