Devotion: The Bible verse in Colossians 3:15 teaches us to allow the peace of Christ govern us. This is because we were called in one body to peace therefore we should be grateful. This scripture summarizes our great calling in Christ Jesus, which is to let His peace reign in our hearts.
In a world of disorder and confusion, the peace of Christ acts as a sanctuary. The supernatural peace surpasses human understanding and asks us to put our trust in God during times of trouble on Earth. Allowing it “to rule” denotes total submission in terms of thoughts, deeds, and even communication patterns with other people. By embracing it in our hearts, we promote unity, comprehension, and love in our societies.
The statement “as members of one body” stresses the need for harmony among those who believe in Jesus Christ. With every act of kindness or forgiveness shown through the peace we have, we contribute to this peace and nurture ourselves in it. However, this type of peace is needed to encourage compassionate engagement in conflict resolution and forgiveness of one another.
It should also be noted that thankfulness leads to peace. Our hearts are turned toward the Lord’s goodness when we remember what we have been given, which allows us to know His peace better.
Today, you should seek to cultivate peace within yourself like Christ did. May every situation or relationship be ahead of you, and may your heart flow in thanksgiving.
Prayer: I am encouraged by the faith that emanates from others who trust You only for peace. My life must be geared towards assisting my peers to achieve unity through fostering this same peace within my mind. During my daily activities let me always have thanks offering spirit acknowledging that You are good all the time Amen.
