A Thought!

The most potent part of a human being is the mind. Today, we live in a time where fewer people are putting their minds to productive work. Peter understood how powerful the mind was when we wrote in 1 Peter 1:13 when he said, "gird up the loins of your mind." In its original context, this passage is talking about "thinking through."

Friend, there are some things we as Christians ought to be thinking through every single day of our lives. We need to get our spiritual acts together and focus on what is essential in this world. Today, I see people in the churches being so focused on petty things that make no significance for eternity.

If you go forward to 1 Peter 1:21, you read where Peter said, "...that your faith and hope might be in God." The most vital thought for the heart of all of humanity is placing your faith in Jesus! Peter taught that you could only believe in God through Jesus and only know God through Jesus.

Jesus, Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me." Let me close this devotion with this thought in mind: In exchange for hell, Jesus will give you heaven. In exchange for your sin, Jesus will provide you with salvation. In exchange for eternal death, Jesus will provide you with eternal life. My dear friends, if you think that thought and get it into your heart, it will change your life now and forever! AMEN!
