One of the essential parts of the Christian life is quiet time with God. My encouragement is to find a secluded place where you can draw close to God without any distractions. When I say no distractions, I mean no interruptions from TV, telephone, people, traffic, or noises.
The critical part is setting aside enough time daily to meditate and pray about what God brings to our hearts and soul. In my own prayer life, I have found that drawing near to God is very rewarding, and I look forward to it each day. Psalm 46:10 says: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
I’ve been to Gethsemane, the place where Jesus would go and pray. The Bible tells us: “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed” (Mark 1:35). In Luke’s Gospel, we read where: “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Friends, we must take time out of our busy lifestyles to “BE STILL AND KNOW HE IS GOD!” Amen!
