Being Real With God!

Do you have a pure relationship with God? How real is your religion? We live in a day and age where most people treat religion as a preference where they think they can pick and choose what they prefer, similar to going through a buffet line. In James 1:27, we are given a scripture where God reveals that there is only one religion. The Bible says: "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

The Bible is talking here about the religious person who has come to faith in Jesus and is pure in their religion. It is not talking about earning or working our way to heaven through some religious type efforts. 

As Christians, the Bible teaches that we do not get saved by sitting idle; when He saves us, we are to serve. In other words, we should not be inactive until the kingdom comes; we must stay involved in the kingdom's coming.

We must keep coming to Christ to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. We must come to Jesus for forgiveness so we can walk in purity that only His blood can offer. In 1 Peter 1:19, the Bible says: "the precious blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without spot:" Are you walking daily by the Savior's side? Have you been washed in the blood of the Lamb?



If you profess Jesus, you must live the religion that exhibits the name of Jesus. If the way you live does not match up with this verse, then chances are, the authenticity of your faith is just a false religion. Amen!
