Casting Your Cares Upon Him!

Scripture:
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:6-7 (KJV)
Devotion:
Significant progress in the environment of life appears to establish a harmonic tone within the realm of each action—issues concerning the assertion of life cloud the natural sky. In essence, "succumbing" to God confirms God's total authority despite not understanding the mysteries of the various circumstances... In doing so, He wants the best for us. We must trust His pathway and lead to our convenience in response to Christ's action.
In the context of this verse, the thought of casting upon God all our anxieties—all those anxieties that keep us from running the race of life with calm, still hearts—impelled Barney to inquire why. For if we would ever do that, God could care for us. God does not remain distant but intervenes in the very situation of our lives. To think that God loves us so much that we can bring our fears, doubts, and cares to Him is an idea that sets us back in awe of how love works. Our great heavenly Father loves us dearly, replenished in His capacity to share our burden so that we may not have to carry loads by ourselves.
Are you carrying anxieties you should let go of? Know that God's hands are there to stand strong yet gentle enough to carry you. Place your burdens at the feet of Jesus and be sustained.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I come under Your mighty hand and throw myself with my downfalls and fears, submitting everything to You. Stir me to trust in You with the rest of them and with peace rather than fear. Bless me with peace that can surpass all human understanding as I rest in your calm and sweet love, knowing that You are ever there for me. Thank You for fidelity in carrying my burdens. Amen, in Jesus' name.
