Psalm 133 is a beautiful reminder of the importance of community and unity. In this Psalm, the writer speaks of the unity of the priests and Levites as they served in the Temple and how this unity brought blessings from God.
The Psalm describes the unity of these priests and Levites as "like the precious oil upon the head, running down upon the beard, upon the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes." This image is a powerful reminder of the richness and blessings of being united in purpose and love.
In the same way, when we come together as a community in love and unity, we experience the blessings of God in our lives. When we support and encourage one another, when we serve and sacrifice for one another, we reflect the love of Jesus to the world around us.
As we read in Romans 12:5, "so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." When we come together as a community, we are not just a collection of individuals, but a body, working together for a common purpose.
Let us pray today for the grace to build strong and loving communities where we support and encourage one another and where the love of Jesus is evident in all that we do. May our communities reflect the unity and blessings of being united in love.
