Grace Upon Grace!

In John 1:16-17 we read these words, "And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

In the opening verses of the Gospel of John, we are presented with a profound truth that echoes through time and eternity—grace upon grace. These simple words carry the weight of a divine promise fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.

Imagine a cascade of grace, an unending stream flowing from the fullness of our Savior. It's not a meager trickle; it's a lavish, abundant outpouring. This grace isn't a one-time gift; it's a continuous, ever-renewing blessing. Every moment, every day, we stand in the overflow of God's unmerited favor.

The contrast between the law given through Moses and the grace and truth brought by Jesus is striking. The law pointed out our shortcomings, a standard we could never fully meet. Yet, Jesus Christ, in His grace, doesn't condemn but redeems. The law demanded; grace provided. The law revealed sin; grace offered salvation.

As we reflect on the past year, we recognize the moments when grace intervened, sustaining us in trials and multiplying our joy in triumphs. Today marks not only a year in life's journey but a year embraced by grace upon grace. The challenges faced, the victories won—they all find their common thread in the unending grace of our Lord.

As we step into the future, let us do so with gratitude-filled hearts. His grace has been sufficient for the past, and it will be abundant for the days ahead. In every situation, His grace is there to meet, guide, and empower us. May we live each day as recipients of this extraordinary grace, mindful of the truth that has set us free.

Heavenly Father, we stand in awe of Your grace upon grace. Thank you for the unmerited favor that has sustained us through the past year.
