He Bore It All!

Devotion by Pastor Shane - April 16, 2025

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:24
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

Devotion:
The weight of our sin was not placed on a stranger or an angel—it was borne by Christ Himself. He, the sinless Son of God, took upon His own body the punishment we deserved. The cross wasn’t just a place of execution; it was the altar of our redemption. Jesus didn’t just carry wood; He carried our guilt, our shame, and our death.

Why? So that we might die to sin and rise into a new life—one marked by righteousness. His suffering was not in vain; His stripes healed our deepest wounds. This verse calls us to live in the reality of that healing—not just as forgiven people, but as transformed people, walking in the light and purity Christ purchased for us.

Let us not treat lightly what cost Him everything.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the precious gift of Your Son, who bore my sins on the cross. Thank You for the healing found in His wounds and the life found in His death. Help me to live in righteousness, honoring the sacrifice that set me free. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
