2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says: "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;."
Many invisible barriers are more significant than us, which seem to stand between us and being where God wants us to be. In the Old Testament, we read where God sent His people, Israel, to the Promised Land, a great place to live, but it was occupied with goliaths that they would have to face and defeat. In our lives, we have to face many goliaths if we are where God wants us to be.
We must conclude that we will face spiritual warfare wherever we go. The Bible said when Goliath challenged Israel, Saul went and hid in his tent. We aren't called to hide. God has called us to pull down strongholds. As we live for Jesus, we will pull down the strongholds of this world.
We are called to cast down imagination. In other words, we must conquer the imaginations of this world. Many goliaths loom over us, but just as Israel did, we can bring them down if we let God fight our battles for us. God has given us the weapons such as His Word, Prayer, and other Christian people. What goliaths do you face right now in your life? Do you find invisible barriers in your heart coming between you and obeying God with your entire heart? Remember to "look to Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith." Amen!
