In this day and age, it seems that some want to get back at others in an attempt to try to hurt others. Often we want to hold the past against other people. I am grateful that God doesn’t hold the past against us. God is like the story of the prodigal son, who runs to meet us and then welcomes us home.
We serve a God who loves us, and we shouldn’t be afraid of His forgiveness. We must be just like God and be willing to forgive others for their faults. Matthew 6:14-15 says: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Is there someone that you are angry with? If you are a believer, never forget God’s forgiveness for your sin. We serve a God that forgives and forgets. To be faithful servants of Christ, we must forgive and forget.
Don’t let another minute go by until you’ve taken care of any issues you have with another person. Let’s swallow the pride, rid the unforgiving spirit and move on with Jesus. Let’s seek to be people of true forgiveness. Amen!
