Satan's Strategies!

The word Satan means "adversary." Since I began my Christian walk 25 years ago, I have been through trial after trial where Satan has tried to get me out of kilter. In my years of ministry, Satan has been seeking to distract me and focus my attention on the material instead of the spiritual, on methods rather than the message, and on men rather than on God.

Satan is a great enemy to the Saint. Satan is the ruler of this world (John 16:11). He is the ruler of demons (Luke 11:15). He is the prince of power and the air (Ephesians 2:2). Satan has been identified as the great dragon, a roaring lion, the vile one, the tempter, and the accuser.

Friend, Satan's methods include discouragement, distraction, discontentment, discord, disillusionment, and disassociation. If Satan can, he will get us to major on the minors and minimize the majors. The most potent weapon that Satan uses is calling us to feel discouraged. I have realized that discouragement is a lack of hope, usually after a significant victory. The Devil was you to believe things are worse than they are. We must realize that discouragement is putting our faith in the Devil.

As Christians, we are kind of like automobiles. When we begin to knock then, something is wrong inside. Satan can cause us to quickly get discontent with what we are supposed to do for God's glory. Satan will give us this sense of disillusionment in life where we feel disenchanted or disappointed by expectations that do not become fulfilled.

The Devil will bring discord and division, especially within our families and the church, caused by selfishness, where we have the attitude; it is my way or no way. Satan will use selfishness, favoritism, narrow-mindedness, and lack of fellowship to bring forth disunity among believers. The Devil loves it when believers do not fellowship, and he loves for us to have disassociation and distance ourselves from each other.

Has Satan been working overtime in your life? Ephesians 4:27 tells us, "Neither give place to the devil." Let God give you victory over the Devil's strategies. Amen!
