We are now entering the threshold of a new year. Most New Year’s resolutions go in one year and out the other. We are constantly defining goals and priorities that we will do this or do that or not do this or that. When we decide to look back at the end of the year, we typically discover that most of our resolutions did not happen.
How will you do this upcoming year? Will you be busy? Will you make any better use of your valuable time? With joy or regret, will you be looking back at the end of 2022? Time is running out, and we should learn to make the best use of our time moving forward.
We must be careful how we live because our time on this earth is running out. We cannot count on tomorrow because tomorrow may never come according to the Bible. All we have is now. Time is running out, so we need to make sure we make the most of every moment.
Do you realize that Satan is a robber and thief of our time? Many people waste their time away in sin. We often over-commit to things that do not make a significant impact in our life or to the kingdom of God that takes up our valuable time. The devil will use this to get us overloaded with work or information.
Let me encourage each of you to take some time this year in 2022 each day to pray and listen to God through His Word. Spend time with your family seeking the things of God. We only have 8,760 hours a year, so may our prayer be for us to use our time in the wisest way we can to bring God glory and honor in this new year.
Amen!
