With God, All Things Are Possible!
Devotion by Pastor Shane - March 3, 2025
Scripture:
“And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” — Mark 10:27 (KJV)
Devotion:
Life becomes intolerable in the face of challenges. Often, we find ourselves diminished by fear and feelings of hopelessness as our strength, wisdom, and resources fail us. These moments serve as poignant reminders of man's finiteness. With that in mind, it becomes a breathtaking experience to realize that Christianity is relatively free; under certain circumstances, you can find strength in striking down what seems overwhelming or impossible to overcome.
This response to the disciples' comment shows how hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God. The disciples, being tested for thinking as ordinary humans do, measured life's success, hope, and possibility in terms of those inherently humanistic standards. Jesus had the foresight to redirect both sets of focus away from earthly limitations.
It is easy to begin the journey of hopelessness in the midst of monetary shortages, broken relationships, sickness, or pulpits of godlessness. However, God sees in the midst of all this. He has the power to move forward on what we see as merely dark. In all things that mankind holds hopeless and ridiculously impossible in their finite minds, our God can do all with His power.
We need to press forward in total trust in You when these challenges arise. Whatever seems impossible today, God skillfully will treat the impossible if He does. Commit your fears to Him. Believe in His power and move forward in faith.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come before You in faith, acknowledging that nothing is impossible with You. Forgive me for the times I doubted Your power and relied on my strength. Help me to trust You fully, knowing that You can do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and remind me that no obstacle is too great for You. I surrender my worries and challenges to You, believing that You will make a way where there seems to be no way. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
