Luke 9:23 says, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." This verse speaks to the great sacrifices we are called to make as followers of Christ.
Following Jesus isn't always easy, and it requires us to put aside our desires and ambitions and fully surrender our lives to Him. This can be a difficult and painful process, but it's necessary to follow Jesus.
Taking up our cross daily means making sacrifices for the gospel's sake. It means putting the needs of others before our own, even if it means we have to give up something important to us. It means being willing to suffer for the sake of Christ, just as He suffered for us on the cross.
But despite the sacrifices we are called to make, we can take heart in that we are not alone. Jesus himself walked this path before us, knowing the struggles and hardships we face. He is with us every step of the way, giving us the strength and courage to persevere.
So if you're feeling overwhelmed by the sacrifices that following Jesus requires, take heart. Remember that Jesus is with you and has promised never to leave or forsake you. Trust in his love and grace, and know that the sacrifices you make for Him are never in vain.
