Matthew 6:12 says, "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.." This verse is a part of the Lord's Prayer, where Jesus teaches us how to pray. In this verse, Jesus emphasizes the importance of forgiveness and its connection to God's provision.
God is a loving and caring Father who wants the best for His children. He provides for our needs and blesses us abundantly. However, we cannot receive His provision if we are holding onto unforgiveness in our hearts. Unforgiveness can be like a barrier that blocks us from experiencing the fullness of God's blessings.
When we pray the Lord's Prayer and say, "Forgive us our debts," we acknowledge that we are all sinners who fall short of God's standard. We need God's forgiveness and ask Him to cleanse us from unrighteousness. But we must also be willing to forgive others who have wronged us. Jesus teaches us that we cannot receive forgiveness if we are unwilling to forgive others.
Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is necessary for our well-being and growth. When we choose to forgive, we release ourselves from anger and bitterness. We open our hearts to God's love and allow His provision to flow into our lives.
So today, let us pray for God's forgiveness and ask Him to help us forgive those who have hurt us. Let us trust in His provision and believe that He will take care of us as we walk in obedience to His word. May we experience the peace and joy that come from a heart that is free from unforgiveness, and may we give God all the glory for His provision in our lives.
