Betrayal!

The classic example of betrayal can be found in Matthew chapter 26, where we see that Judas betrayed Jesus. I don't know any Christian that would argue that the man that betrayed Jesus Christ with a kiss is the most detested person in the history of the world.

I have learned a tough lesson in life, and that is there are going to be people who will betray you. There will be people who will act like your best friend, but honestly, they are not. I want you to take from todays' devotion: WE CAN BETRAY GOD, BUT GOD WILL NOT BETRAY US!

Judas is a classic example demonstrating that people can have a fake relationship with Christ. In Matthew chapter 26:21, Jesus said, "Verily I say unto you, that one of your shall betray me."

When you get the chance to speak for Jesus, do you betray Him by keeping quiet? When we put material things before Jesus, we are betraying Him. Every time we sin against Jesus, we betray Him. When we disobey a command of Jesus, we betray Him. Whenever I do something I know I shouldn't do, I betray Him.

The sad news about Judas is that he died not knowing God as Lord of his life. What Judas did was live with God but died without God because He genuinely never knew God. But the good news is that no matter how many times you and I betray Jesus, He will never betray us, and you can come to Him anytime, and He will always be ready to accept you no matter what you have done.
