The Bible teaches in Proverbs that a troublemaker plants seeds of strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends. A whisperer slanders and backbites in secret, a significant problem in the church today.
As Christians, we must unite around what God's Word says about our conduct and speech and comply with God's plan and will for His people. When we talk about someone who is not around, that is considered gossip. When we do this secretly with another person, it is regarded as "whispering gossip." When we gossip, it shows a heart condition, and the remedy requires a true confession and repentance unto the Lord.
With God's help as Christians, let's not be involved in whispering gossip. The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:28, "A froward man soweth strife: And a whisperer separateth chief friends." If you have been guilty of whispering gossip, God's Word says, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but those whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." Amen!
