Prayer Warriors!

How is your prayer life? In the Bible, we read in James 5:17-18, "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit." Many people have commented that their prayers seem to go unanswered. James assures us in the Word of God that our prayers can accomplish mighty and miraculous things.

James says we have the same availability and kind of power Elijah had when he prayed. The Bible says, "Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are." James uses Elijah as an example to encourage us in our own prayer life. Elijah was not perfect and had many flaws; he had no unique talents but prayed to God with power. We must realize that anyone who is a true believer can pray with the same passion that Elijah did.

Our problem many times is that we give up too soon. Just like the Prophet Elijah, we must pray with passion and persistence. As believers, we must desire to pray more and get more out of our prayers. Let's pray like the Prophet Elijah and recognize the necessity of prayer in our lives. Amen!
