One of my favorite stories in the Bible is about David and Goliath because it reminds me of the giants we all face in our lives. Daily we are all faced with some giant in our lives. Whenever you meet a giant in your life, you must have the courage to step up to the fight.
Many people reading this devotional think they have problems they cannot solve. I have found that many times it is not that you can't solve them, but that people won't solve them, and that is because many people run away from their problems instead of stepping up to their problems. It's like the military; if you cut and run, you will not win.
Suppose your marriage is in trouble; if you want to ruin and lose your marriage, just cut and run. If you are struggling with financial difficulties and haven't figured out a way to manage your finances, it is probably because of a cut-and-run situation. Friend, you will never solve marital, financial, or spiritual problems when you try to cut and run from them.
The biggest problem is not the problem we face; it is most people won't face their problems. Here we see that David was willing to step up and take the lead and fight Goliath. You name the problem or difficulty you are having in life. I promise you from this lesson that there is no problem too difficult for God to handle, just as He did with David and Goliath. With God on your side, you can step up to the fight in every situation. Amen.
1 Samuel 17:37 reads, "...The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, God, and the LORD be with thee."
