Daily Devotion by Pastor Shane - August 14, 2024

Scripture:  Galatians 6:9,  "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Devotion:  Growing weary of doing good in a world that often values quick results and instant gratification can be easy. Whether in our relationships, service to others, or personal faith journeys, persistence can sometimes feel like a heavy burden. In this verse, the Apostle Paul encourages us to remain steadfast, reminding us that our efforts are not in vain and that patience has its rewards.

The call to not become weary is both a comfort and a challenge. It acknowledges the reality of fatigue and discouragement and encourages us to continue striving for goodness. Each act of kindness, each moment spent nurturing relationships or serving in our communities, even when unrecognized, is vital in the kingdom of God.

Paul assures us that a “harvest” is waiting for those who do not give up. This harvest may manifest in various ways—seen or unseen. It could be the transformation in someone’s life due to our influence, strengthening our faith, or the joy that comes from serving others. God sees our efforts and promises that faithfulness will bear fruit.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to stay focused and determined in doing good. When I feel weary or discouraged, it reminds me of the harvest that awaits those who do not give up. Strengthen my resolve and renew my heart to continue to be a light in this world. May my actions reflect Your love and goodness. Amen.

Conclusion: Take a moment to consider areas in your life where you may be feeling weary. Ask God for renewed strength and clarity on doing good, trusting that persistence leads to a fruitful harvest. Reflect on the small ways you can carry on the work of goodness daily.
