Trusting God With The Year Ahead!

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5

⁵ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.

Devotion: A specific combination of thrill and unpredictability usually marks the advent of a new year. What will happen next? Which challenges or opportunities are forthcoming? The timeless guidance of Proverbs 3:5- 6 says to trust your heart, give your plans to him, and he will care for you.

Trusting in God requires surrendering our desire to control every situation fully and understanding it completely. Human knowledge is limited and sometimes wrong. However, divine knowledge comprehends all things without fail, while divine actions cannot be mistaken. When we have faith in him, he directs our paths and removes obstacles on them so that they lead to His best plan in life.

If we talk about surrendering unto God in all ways mentioned above, it means finding His will in everything, including relationships, careers, finances, etc., and inviting Him into our choices. Such a level of trust cannot always be easy, but it is ever-rewarding since it enhances our relationship with Him and directs our purposes toward Him.

As we start this new year's journey, I pray that we commit ourselves entirely to God and rely on His intelligence. May we allow Him to be our leader, knowing that his thoughts are not like ours and He always keeps His word.

Prayer:  Father, as we approach yet another season, help us thank you for giving us another opportunity to trust in you this year. Teach us not to depend on what we know but on our understanding. Lord, may we involve you in every step we take, and let us acknowledge your presence in every decision we make. Please show us the way and direct us to our destination this year. Increase our faith as we keep walking with you. May the year be filled with you and everything we have to accomplish in your name, Jesus. Amen.
